The Lara Fun Run / Walk is a family focussed event where everyone can participate. The event starts and finishes at the beautifully renovated Pirra Mansion gardens. The course takes participants through Serendip Sanctuary amongst a spectacular bush setting and plenty of wildlife. The Lara Fun Run aims to provide a great value, healthy, non competitive, enjoyable experience for everyone, whilst at the same time helping local community groups raise much needed funds.
RACE NUMBER PICK UPS
There are three opportunities to collect your race bib/number. Two of these will be prior to race day and one on the morning of the event. Details on venues and times will be available closer to race date.
PRESENTATION CEREMONY
Presentation Ceremony will take place at approximately 10:30am
EVENT PHOTO'S
We will have 4 professional photographers out on course taking thousands of photos of your big day. With bib number identification technology you can visit the website afterwards, type in your number and every photo of you in it will appear. A large variety of sizes and even your race time displayed on the photo. These photos will be available for purchase either through downloadable copies or printed and posted to your door. Photos will begin from a low $8 (plus postage)
RANDOM PRIZES
There will be over $5000 worth of random prize giveaways at and before the Lara Fun Run this year. Major prize draws will be held in the weeks leading up to the event for all those who have entered early. Check out the Prize Draws page for full details. Random prize distribution on race day will be via a ticket system. If you receive a ticket at the finish line you can collect your prize from the event HQ marquee.
BAG STORAGE
There will be a secure (staffed) baggage holding area at the event site. The baggage holding area will be open from 8:00am and will close at 10:30am. PLEASE ENSURE THERE ARE NO VALUABLE ITEMS LEFT AT THE BAGGAGE HOLDING AREA.
DRINK STATIONS
Drink stations will be located at approximately 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km and the finish line.
GOODIE BAGS
Every finisher will recieve a bag full of goodies when they cross the finish line.
PARKING
Secure off road parking is available within easy walking distance of the event site. Marshals will be available to ensure parking is orderly and safe. View maps page for parking location.
PREPARATION AND TRAINING
Please ensure you are well hydrated prior to taking on the run and that you have a sufficient level of fitness to be capable of finishing the event in a safe manner
TOILETS
Geoffs mobile toilet truck will once again be at this years event, there will be 19 flushing toilets, urinals and basins (with soap) to make your last minute dash a bit more pleasant.
PETS AND IPODS
No pets are allowed in the Lara Fun Run.
Ipods are allowed, however please play at a volume that does not disturb other runners and a volume you are able to hear course marshals instructions
